This Easter weekend, chocolate is everywhere—on shelves, in baskets, and in conversations. And we’re not complaining!
But at Leprosy Mission Australia, chocolate means more than just indulgence. It’s part of a bigger picture—one that includes dignity, empowerment, and even mental health.
Our mission is clear: zero transmission, zero disability, and zero stigma from leprosy by 2035. For over a century, we’ve worked across more than 25 countries to deliver medical care, fight stigma, and help people affected by leprosy reclaim their lives.
Through our social enterprise online store, we extend that mission by partnering with artisans and producers whose values align with ours—empowering people through meaningful, dignified work.
That’s why we’re proud to stock hand-crafted rocky road from Pebbly Path, a small-batch chocolatier in regional NSW, Mudgee. More than just making ridiculously good chocolate, Pebbly Path is committed to doing good, too.

They support the local economy by using premium Australian ingredients, champion sustainable and ethical sourcing, and—importantly—put mental health front and centre. A portion of their profits goes to LIVIN.org, an organisation breaking the stigma around mental health. As Pebbly Path puts it, they talk about mental health as openly as they talk about chocolate.
For us at Leprosy Mission Australia, this alignment matters. Just like leprosy, mental health challenges are often hidden behind silence and stigma. We believe in lifting that silence, whether we’re talking about a disease that still affects hundreds of thousands globally—or the everyday struggles that impact our well-being here at home.
At Leprosy Mission Australia, our social enterprise online shop isn’t just a way to raise funds. It’s a channel for restoring dignity to people affected by leprosy, poverty, and disability.
Many of our products are made by artisans whose lives are being transformed through employment, skills training, and community connection. And every purchase supports our work in countries like India, Nepal, Nigeria, Timor-Leste, and beyond.

So yes—this Easter, we care about chocolate. Because we know that chocolate can create change. Whether it’s supporting global health, local farmers, or mental wellness, it can be a symbol of hope. What could be better than chocolate with a purpose?
